Whitney Farms Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Monroe, Connecticut.
The Whitneys originally established this property as a farm with rare race horse breeding stables. A dairy farm existed on this land as well.
Whitney Farms Golf Course opened as a Public Golf Course in 1982. The course was designed by Hal and Malcolm Purdy. In the process of re-designing the land, the architects took advantage of the ponds, scenic views, and natural wildlife in the overall layout.
Over three hundred homes have been added added to form a golf course community.
Yardages range from 5832 yards to 6628 yards with slope levels of 124 to 130.

Challenging course with fast, undulating greens. Blind shots make this course very difficult for first-timers. Lack of distance guides (how difficult is it to mark a sprinkler head?) makes for some frustration. Overall a good course, with special fall pricing making it worthwhile.
